Podcast #65 – Overcoming the Love for the World

In this week's podcast we continue looking at the story of Lot. In Genesis 13, a contention arose among Lot and Abraham concerning their material possessions and, while Abraham yielded, Lot went his own way. Up until this time, Lot was following and under the protection of Abraham, but surprisingly he never developed a personal and direct relationship with the Lord. Material possessions became a big test to him. In New Testament terms, we can say that Lot loved the world. The principle is that worldliness becomes a test to those who follow others spirituality. What we need most is a firsthand, personal and direct relationship with the Lord. What do we do when we realize that we love the world? There is an answer. Find out in this week’s podcast.

i enjoyed the message on overcoming the love for the world. i thank the Lord for showing me mercy by bringing me into the reality of the church life, through a brother back then in school here in Nigeria, however, I have a question based on this podcast; it seems I really love to buy clothes, I just love clothes, I’ve read in the lifestudy that some people need to bury their shopping in the babtisery and never go shopping without the Lord’s presence, I feel this refers to me somehow,I really need to know if this item of loving clothes can be very costly to my maturity in life and can prevent me from being raptured or so? I await your frank response. thank you.

Thank you Lord for this precious word. What a very important word of warning. I would need to take heed of this word else I would fall into Satan’s trap and be his prey. Oh Lord, save us from the Love of the world. Lord make our heart pure and true to you. May You be our focus and not anyone or anything else. Lord may you also be our focus in Your Word. Because we love You. We will love Your Word. We Love you our beloved Lord Jesus. Help us Lord, strengthen us. We need you and be merciful to us. Amen Lord.
